SBX is a competition in which four riders compete. Whoever reaches the finish line first, is the winner.
This competition is considered a race competition, but a lot of the reasons lead to the recognition of the discipline as mixed. Riders can compete on soft and on hard sets. On the track, in addition to the poles, obstacles are present. These include jumps, rollovers, gangs, and corners, whose defeat requires the skills learned also from freestyle. Such askills take control over a jump during the flight.
A snowboard cross track consists of many harsh elements that the riders must overcome. The first, and also the most important element is the start, because from that moment it will weigh the fate of the race.
I present the basic track snowboard cross.
After the start, it is about 150 meters of straight line driving. In this section there may be obstacles, which however do not change direction, for example rollers. Another obstacle is the gang, resulting in a change of direction. Then there is kiker, which a riders does not jump but suppresses. Then there’s gang, which once again is changing direction. The ultimate part is the corner, which is quite insurmountable since it forces the riders to change direction during flight and finish, which then ends the race.
