Winter season 2013/2014 Kaprun!
This winter season I decided to stay in one place. I chose Kaprun, because I have good memories of this place. A long, long time ago, we came here with our team and our coach to train in snowboarding, slalom. It was a really nice time, everything was before everything. Everyone believed in the success. We trained really hard, without excuses. We were very motivated……
So it was nice to come back to this place, and I think that it was the best decision made.
I came to Kaprun 25.12 right after Christmas Eve, my father drove me off there. I was very stressed out, and said to myself „Ninka again, why can’t you not just stay in the safety of hour home within stress?” But we were already in Kaprun. So I found a Ski School, Gernot Shermer, and went inside.
- Hello, my name is Nina, I think that I will work at your ski school this season.
- Oh yes, hello, my name is Burgi, welcome to our school. Marcus will give you a jacket, follow him…
So I met Marcus. What did I do? I called him gay (I have nothing against gays). It was nice for the first few minutes in my new ski school.
After that I met my new boss, Gernot Schermer. At the first instructor meeting I called him Big Boss…”Hey Big Boss, sorry but I don’t understand you, where do I have to go?”;) So he was big boss for the whole seasson.
So I got the yellow jacket, vest, first aid kit and went to the instructor’s place, Blue House. There I met four girls Kaia, Ella, Lotte and Josephin (btw Josephin, we don’t have toilette paper;).
Five girls in one place…oh my….but in the end, even cows wanted to join us! I don’t know if it was a good sign for us;)hehe…
But we had trampoline also, but we didn’t put cows there…;)
First day at work, everybody told me „Nina, you have to know everything otherwise Big Boss will be angry”(They used other words, but I don’t wanna do this here;)
Always in the morning instructors meet with BigBoss in the Kindergarden and then he would explain which lessons we would have. So, I went there my first day and our boss said my name…I understood only my name…and still didn’t know what kind of lesson I had…so at the end of my the season „of course I know” it was compared to „Of course I love you”.;)
In Austria I became a russian ski instructor, and after one whole week with 11 rusian families (kids, adults, kids and adults;)) my Big Boss said „Nina, tomorrow you have training – ski”, I said „hey come on, Big Boss..”He looked at me „ Nina, I know that you are a snowboarder, but I need you”. So most of my lessons were on skis., When somebody aksed me: „Can you speak Russian?” Yes, now I can, almost, or I can go to the cabaret with my perfect russian.
In my free time I chose pleasure….so I would ride on my snowboard.Only the snowboard makes me feel free! In Kitzsteinhorn there are two nice snowparks which were available all season. They were prepared and changed, kickers, jibbing, halpipie…so it wasn’t boring.
All my free time I spent snowboarding, and spent time in the snow park, freeriding or on snow;)
Sorry,I date only snowboarders!
After work on Wednesday when my friends from blue house spent their evening in the famous Pavillon, I took my snowboard, and we went on Glocknerblick on snowshoes and there we spent a really nice evening „Happy Wednesday”…so if you wanna know what happened there, just climb up and check, because it is worth!:)
When Wednesady was gone, in the evenings, I took my cross-country skiing and went to the track. I was getting better and better with this stuff…but the snow was gone, so I was running in the woods to look for a wild board, fortunately, I did not find it.
Some days, when I came back from the glacier and met Duncan and Bart, we went straight to get drunk on borsch, and we had to try borsch everywhere. The next day, we didn’t want to go again ;)
Another thing, when you got injured and you cannot snowboard, you start freaking out. So you start visiting places which normally are so far. At the end of the season (April) I overtraind my knee and I got water inside it, so I decided to go to Zell, which is 10 km from Kaprun. Long trip, nice lake, good day, but I had enough…:) What to do to not freak out? „I think you’re freaky and I like you a lot”, the best solution is to go on only one ride and after that for only one beer…
I can and will live in a place like Kaprun. You can do everything there, snowboarding
I like it!:)
So my nice season was over and I have to come back to Poland………..what happens in Poland I will explain later!:)
